The Living Our Values awards recognize individuals and groups that exemplify Illinois State’s core values of Learning and Scholarship, Diversity and Inclusion, Respect, Collaboration, Individualized Attention, Civic Engagement, and Integrity, as spelled out in Educate Connect Elevate: Illinois State – The Strategic Plan for Illinois’ First Public University 2018-2023. The awards celebrate the commitment to live the University’s values every day and strengthen the campus community by sharing those values.
“The nominees are known advocates for diversity and inclusion on campus. They work to give a voice to marginalized student populations here at Illinois State and in our surrounding community,” said the group’s nominator, Executive Director of Admissions Jeff Mavros.
Mavros described several specific ways Drs. Lynd, Pancrazio, and Toro-Morn represent the collaborative spirit of the Living Our Values Award, including their partnership with the Office of Admissions to better serve Hispanic students and families in the college search process.
“This ongoing partnership is an excellent example of the collegiality that makes Illinois State strong, and this group of faculty partners has, and continues to be, an incredible resource for the Office of Admissions.”
