Illinois State University will be closing as of noon on Monday, January 22, 2024, due to extreme weather conditions. All classes (in-person, hybrid, and online) that began at noon or after are cancelled, including evening classes. Residence halls, dining centers and the University Police Department will remain open. All other University buildings will be closed.
Only weather essential personnel should report to work. All other employees, regardless of current work location (on-campus or remote) are not required to work during the closure. At this time, the University plans to resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 23, at 7 a.m.
Hourly employees whose regular shifts begin before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, and who are not designated as essential personnel, should report to work at 7 a.m., when the University opens. Dining centers will open at regular times, but retail dining locations may have delayed openings.
