Dr. Traci Carte, director of the School of Information Technology, has received the Association of Information Systems (AIS) Fellow Award.

Established in 1999, the AIS Fellow Award is designed to recognize “individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the information systems discipline in terms of research, teaching, and service.”

Carte has been part of the AIS community for more than 20 years. “It was extremely humbling to receive this recognition,” she shared.

Carte’s publication record and her time serving in editorial roles are both extensive; in addition, her service to the AIS community has been incredibly impactful. Most recently, she served as the vice president of conferences during the coronavirus pandemic, and helped the association navigate the move to online conferences. “This effort was an important part of making sure the association continued to serve its members as they navigated the impacts of COVID on them as professionals,” said Carte.

Only 3% of information systems academics have been named fellows by AIS.
