The Road to Pediatric Integrated Primary Care
Join Roberts, an Illinois State University school psychology graduate, as she shares her pathway from student to professor in a career focused on integrating behavioral health into pediatric primary care. From developing partnerships and training the future behavioral health workforce to implementation, Roberts will take you down the (sometimes) winding road to increase access to behavioral health in rural and underserved areas.
Roberts is a professor and faculty trainer in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and a licensed psychologist in Nebraska. Roberts is the director of the integrated primary care program in the Psychology Department. Additionally, she is the program director of integrated care for the Mid-America Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC), a center supported by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to provide training and technical assistance in integrated care in a four-state region.
Roberts has extensive experience establishing integrated primary care. She has led implementation in over 20 clinics across Nebraska, many in rural or frontier areas. Roberts also serves as a national consultant on the implementation of pediatric integrated primary care. She has extensive experience providing and training behavioral health services via telehealth. Roberts provides clinical supervision and professional and research mentorship to postdoctoral/doctoral interns and master’s trainees in pediatric integrated primary care.
