Campers will engage in a variety of gaming and esports activities, including:

Physical education and wellness

Physical health is a critical part of the Redbird Esports program. It’s part of the reason physical activity is built into the schedule of each varsity player. The research tells us that someone who takes care of their health and wellness performs better while gaming. Campers will spend one hour a day engaging in physical activity and games.

Communication and teamwork

One of the most important aspects of esports and team-based gaming, is the ability to effectively communicate and work together both in-game and out-of-game. Campers will spend multiple days learning how to improve communication and team work skills.

Career opportunities

Offered as optional sessions at no additional cost, campers can choose to participate in a variety of classes focused on everything from coding and PC building, to broadcast, production, and live-streaming.

Gaming

Of course, it wouldn’t be an esports camp without the opportunity to play some games. Each day, campers will have a large variety of games to pick from, with the gaming session happening each day.

The final day of the camp will feature a live tournament and broadcast that campers can share with family and friends. Registration is now available for all sessions. Day of registrations are permitted, however it’s strongly encouraged to register in advance to avoid any delays in programming. Have questions? Email us at esports@IllinoisState.edu.
