The Illinois Shakespeare Festival (ISF) has announced a free performance of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (abridged) on Thursday, April 25 at 5 p.m. on the southeast corner of the Illinois State University Quad, outside the Center for the Performing Arts.

This 40-minute production is part of ISF’s Bard in a Box educational outreach program, a touring troupe that performs Romeo and Juliet for schools and community groups. In celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday, cake will be served following the performance.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and experience the timeless story of Romeo and Juliet. In case of rain, the performance will move into the lobby of the Center for the Performing Arts.

“All the world’s a stage” and Bard in a Box brings the stage to you.

This event is free. Tickets are not required.
