The Illinois State University Planetarium will host programs for visitors to learn about the April 8, 2024, solar eclipse. Free programs will be offered Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., under the dome of the Planetarium.
We will delve into Moon phases and eclipses—focusing on the upcoming solar eclipse, visible across North America. We’ll also explore many of the highlights found in the current evening sky. These include the bright stars, constellations, and planets currently visible from Central Illinois.
Admission for this special event is free, with donations appreciated. Planetarium doors will open 20 minutes before each program. Seating is limited.
