On April 9, 2024, Professor Mike Hendricks received the Center for Civic Engagement’s Community Partner Award on behalf of BN Welcoming. “This recognition honors organizations and individuals who contribute to student learning and support student engagement with the community in a curricular or cocurricular setting. BN Welcoming is a local organization focused on creating a safe and supportive community for immigrants and refugees.” Hendricks has been working with the organization since last May on fundraising, grant writing, and website design. He has also brought on several Stevenson Center Applied Community and Economic Development graduate fellows to assist with the organization’s important work.
