Members of the Illinois State University community are invited to a retirement reception for Sandy Cavi on Friday, April 26, from 2-4 p.m., in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center. Formal remarks will be delivered at 3 p.m.

Cavi has served as an associate vice president (AVP) for budgeting and planning since 2017. She began her career at Illinois State in 1989 as a personnel assistant in the Office of the Provost. She later moved to Human Resources and eventually to the Budget Office where she stayed for 18 years, becoming the director. Cavi now provides administrative oversight for the Budget Office and the Office of Planning, Research, and Policy Analysis (PRPA).

Cavi has spearheaded many campus projects. She was instrumental in the creation of the current web-based merit allocation process (Salary Planner) and the initiation of an electronic budget reporting system, which has now evolved to Budget Center. Fiscal oversight, process improvement, and coordination of effort among central service units have been key to her role as AVP. Her extensive knowledge of university operations has enabled her to initiate and contribute to enhanced relations between units and divisions, leading to positive change.

Please join us in congratulating Cavi on her 35 years of service and thank her for her dedication to Illinois State University.
