Honors
Rajeev Goel, ECO, was ranked in the Top 10 (#8) Highly Ranked Scholars worldwide, lifetime, across disciplines (including economics, political science, etc.) by ScholarGPS. According to ScholarGPS, “Highly Ranked Scholars™ are the most productive (number of publications) authors whose works are of profound impact (citations) and of utmost quality (h-index).”
David B. Williams, MUS and CTK, was honored to have his choral composition Make Haste O God (TTB) selected for the College Music Society’s March 2024 South Central Conference and performed by the University of Arkansas Ft. Smith men’s choir in concert.
Martha Horst, MUS, received a residency at MacDowell, an artist colony in New Hampshire, where she previously completed fellowships in 2004 and 2007. Horst completed a trio for harp, flute, and viola based on poetry by Emily Dickinson that will be premiered by Empyrean Ensemble in San Francisco in 2024-2025.

Ali Riaz, POL, published the following research:
- “India’s election opens the door to the past” in The Daily Star on June 5, 2024
- “Indian Election: Democrats around the world breathe a sigh of relief” in the Daily Prothom Alo on June 6, 2024.
Gina Hunter, ANT, published research on “Edible Insects” in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Food Studies online on June 18, 2024.
Roberta Trites, ENG, and Dr. Sean Connors of the University of Arkansas have co-authored Young Adult Literature and Neoliberalism: Exceptionalism, Exploitation, Erasure, University of Mississippi Press, published in the Children’s Literature Association series. (Expected to publish March 2025; now available for preorder.)
Presentations
Ali Riaz, POL, gave a presentation titled, “Politics, Media, and Social Cohesion in Bangladesh: Challenges and Pathways” at Georgetown University’s Berkeley Center in late May.
Rajeev Goel, ECO, presented his paper, “Election campaign finance bans in parliamentary and presidential democracies and corruption,” at the 20 Years of the Quality of Government Research Conference at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, May 2024.
