All members of the Illinois State University community are invited to a retirement reception for Debbie Fox, assistant dean for external relations in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), on Wednesday, September 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ewing Manor, with remarks at 4:15 p.m.
After graduating from Illinois State University in 1979, Fox began her career as an English teacher at Pontiac Township High School in Pontiac. After a stint as a staff member at the National Council of Teachers of English, where her responsibilities included managing the Conference on College Composition and Communication, she served as the Central/Southern Illinois sales representative for Prentice Hall textbook publishing company before returning to Illinois State as an assistant dean in 2006.
“Debbie Fox is retiring after 18 years of service in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Dean’s Office, and she deserves an amazing send-off,” said Dean Heather Dillaway. “I hope to see everyone at her retirement reception. She is one of a kind, and we will miss her!”
