Leadership Education and Development (LEAD), a unit of the Dean of Students Office, in collaboration with Milner Library, will host Dr. Alison Bailey for a dynamic conversation centering “The Weighty Conversation: How White Supremacy Damages White People,” the fourth chapter from her book The Weight of Whiteness published in 2021.
Bailey’s discussion will explore how white supremacy harms white individuals, drawing connections between privilege, identity, and the societal structures that sustain inequality.
Students, faculty and staff are cordially invited to attend on Wednesday, October 23, from 2-3:15 p.m. in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center where there will also be a pop-up library where books can be checked out to expand on the conversation. Light refreshments will be available at a first come, first served basis, and RSVP is encouraged.
