Human Resources has sponsored and facilitated a Leadership Certificate program since 2023. This year’s program seeks to continue providing timely and relevant topics and sessions from internal and external speakers to current and aspiring leaders at Illinois State University.
Participants will have the opportunity to dive deeper into topics such as organizational communications, managing performance, ethical leadership principles, teambuilding and morale, leadership styles, change management, setting priorities, and more. Training modes will include in-person sessions, cross-departmental/divisional dialogue opportunities, executive and external guest speakers, and self-paced e-learning courses focused on enriching essential leadership competencies.

To make that happen, we are asking for interest applications to be completed by August 25, which will include a statement of interest/purpose, supervisor approval/endorsement, and a commitment to attending the core sessions (usually one per month) and completing a self-study with the other electives and online learning. We hope to gather all of the application materials, assess the interest, and make decisions on members for the 2025-26 cohort prior to August 31.
Individuals will be confirmed and vetted through the applicant’s home division and contacted iSeptember 1.
