The Office of International Engagement (OIE) at Illinois State University welcomed 110 new international students this fall, topping the projected total of 80. The arrival of this year’s cohort—representing more than 30 countries—caps a uniquely challenging application cycle for international students. The addition of this new group is a welcome sight for a university that thrives on the excellence and diversity they bring.

With the addition of the new arrivals, total enrollment is now at 486. While 54 international students are expected to graduate this fall, many of them will continue exploring educational and developmental opportunities in the United States. The OIE currently supports 357 students participating in temporary employment directly related to their field of study, in addition to the 486 enrolled.
