Two Illinois State University mock trial squads competed at the Northern Illinois University mock trial tournament held during the last weekend in October. Three ISU students received individual awards.
Squad 1123 team captain Kelly Franklin was awarded outstanding attorney. Ann Stranges and squad 1124 captain Myles McLean were named outstanding witnesses. All three are seniors that competed on the team last year.
Both Redbird squads garnered 3-4-1 records. The two teams both competed against the University of Texas-Dallas and the University of Iowa. Squad 1123 faced Elmhurst College, and squad 1124 went against Wheaton College.
Students interested in trying out for the 2018-19 mock trial team must first complete POL 28s: Trial Advocacy in the spring semester. For further information about ISU mock trial, please contact Professor McClure at temcclu@ilstu.edu.
