Team captains Myles McLean and Kelly Franklin won Outstanding Attorney Awards, and Ann Stranges earned honors for her performance as a witness.  This is the second time these competitors won awards this season. Seniors Tara Klein and Michael Sheldon plus junior Olivia Smallwood won Outstanding Witnesses Awards.

Twenty squads participated at this invitational tournament. The tournament recognized twenty-five students for their outstanding performances. Although the Illinois State squads represented 10 percent of the participants, the Redbirds won 24 percent of individual awards, an ISU record for this tournament.

ISU squad 1124 garnered a 5-1 record, and squad 1123 went 4-4. The squads faced teams from Truman State, Loyola University, Elmhurst College, Northwestern University, University of Dayton, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Ohio Northern University. The University of Notre Dame won the tournament and Loyola University came in second.

Students interested in competing on the mock trial team in 2018-19, should enroll in POL 283: Trial Advocacy in the spring semester. Questions about the mock trial team should directed to Professor McClure at temcclu@ilstu.edu.
