Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for light appetizers and this year’s Civic Engagement Exhibition. The exhibition will feature table displays from university units with a civic engagement focus as well as poster presentations from faculty, staff, and students.
A short program will begin at 3 p.m. with a welcome from Illinois State University Interim President Aondover Tarhule. Acting Provost Ani Yazedjian, and Associate Vice President of Student Affairs Danielle Miller-Schuster will give remarks before joining Dr. Katy Strzepek, director of the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE), in announcing winners of the University’s 2023 Civic Engagement Awards. Additional time will be available for the exhibition at the conclusion of the presentations.
“This is an important annual event for the University,” said Harriett Steinbach, assistant director of the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE). “Each year we take time to highlight the University’s core value of civic engagement by celebrating the amazing work taking place across our campus and in our community. When we publicly acknowledge this work, we also increase awareness of the ways others could become involved.”
Table displays will be provided by CCE, the Office of Sustainability, and the Stevenson Center for Economic Development. Poster presentations will be offered by:
