The College of Education at Illinois State University opened nominations for the Illinois State University Teacher of the Year awards program which recognizes outstanding teaching among all teacher education graduates from ISU.
All ISU teacher education alumni with 10 or more years in the classroom are eligible for Teacher of the Year and alumni with 20 years or more in the classroom are eligible for the Legacy Teacher awards. Current teachers at the ISU laboratory schools are eligible for the Laboratory Schools award. Five finalists in each category will be recognized and winners will be announced at a luncheon on Friday, April 5.
The awards honor teachers who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating qualities as a teacher leader, commitment to students, impact in their schools and communities, and commitment to professional growth.
