On March 25, Pi Sigma Alpha, in collaboration with the Department of Politics and Government, the Stevenson Center, and the Center for Civic Engagement, hosted an event featuring Senator Koehler, who represents the 46th District and serves as the assistant majority leader in the Illinois Senate. Senator Koehler has been a prominent figure in Illinois politics, serving since 2006, with prior experience on the Peoria County Board and the Peoria City Council.
The event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to engage with Senator Koehler on various issues impacting the campus and the broader community. As a representative of the University’s interests in Springfield, Senator Koehler offered insights into legislative priorities, challenges, and opportunities for the campus and student population. Students also had the chance to ask the senator questions about his long career in politics and public service, seeking advice for their potential career paths.
