Members of the Illinois State University community are invited to a retirement reception for Career Services Director Pamela J. Cooper:

  • When: 3-5 p.m. (remarks at 4 p.m.) Wednesday, May 29
  • Where: Brown Ballroom I and II, Bone Student Center

For over 35 years, Cooper has been an inspirational leader to Illinois State staff and students alike. With a genuine, collaborative, and cooperative leadership style, she has contributed to many university departments, committees, campaigns, and programs.

Cooper is the founder of the University’s Cultural Career Network, which connects students with employers through a variety of programs specifically dedicated to support the professional success of all Redbirds.

One of the many highlights of her career happened in 2017 when Cooper received the Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award for her outstanding contributions to students and excellence in her individual efforts and concern for student success.

Most recently, Cooper has served as co-chair of the University Academics and Careers Council, which reviews Illinois State’s career development and career readiness practices to ensure current and future initiatives are rooted in best practices and meet the career needs of Illinois State students and alumni.

A mother of three, grandmother of five, and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Cooper plans to enjoy retirement spending time with her husband Adrian, and their family and friends. Join the University as we congratulate her and wish her well in retirement.
