Milner Library will be replacing the carpeting in some areas of the sixth floor beginning May 13. To protect nearby collections, shelves will need to be wrapped in plastic, which means that some collections on the floor will not be accessible as the project progresses. Patrons are encouraged to visit the library before May 13 to access items in these collections or to use I-Share to request items that may be affected. The Teaching Materials Center and Special Collections department are not affected by the project and may continue to be used as normal.
Impacted collection subject areas include education, music, art, and language and literature. Items in these collections will still be discoverable in the Milner Library catalog, but during the carpeting updates, items in Milner’s collection impacted by the project will be listed as “Not available.” Those items marked unavailable at Milner can still be requested from other libraries through I-Share, and once requested, can be picked up at Milner’s circulation desk. The I-Share process typically takes less than a week for delivery to Milner.
Milner Library anticipates that the carpeting project will be complete before the start of the fall 2024 semester.
