The inaugural Illinois State Marketing Matters newsletter is a new way to connect marketing students and families with all the activities available outside of class. We trust this will serve as a one-stop information source and conversation-starter for all interested and involved in the Department of Marketing and College of Business here at Illinois State University. 

The name of the newsletter, Marketing Matters, truly has a double meaning. First, the email will highlight all the events, activities, and opportunities that matter within the Department of Marketing, from special events and speakers to information on internships, job fairs, scholarships, awards, and various ways students can engage. Second, it is designed to showcase the dynamic and expanding role of marketing in today’s world with examples of how our department, with over 1,000 declared majors, connects students with this critical discipline in various meaningful and practical ways, and why marketing matters more than ever. 

We proudly offer major sequence emphases in general marketing, integrated marketing communications, marketing analytics, professional sales, business education, and a 4+1 Master’s degree option in marketing analytics. Marketing graduates from Illinois State serve in roles across countless industries, from Fortune 100 businesses to sports teams, media conglomerates, marketing agencies, social media platforms, and well-known brands across all categories. 

Marketing Matters is just one way to stay connected to all the activities and events available for students and to share the many opportunities to make them more marketable in their future endeavors.
