Thanks to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, Illinois State University now has access to over 280 hours of structured online content in the teaching and learning of research methods. Sage Campus courses are developed by experienced academics but are entirely self-paced, allowing students to pursue learning on their own schedules and according to their own particular needs. The courses engage learners with a mix of content, including video, interactives, and assessments. Topics covered include research skills and methods for all stages of academic study; the art of ChatGPT interactions, cleaning data, conducting literature reviews, critical reading, data analysis, getting published, and many others. You can browse all courses on the Sage Campus platform.
Access to Sage Campus requires current affiliation with the University but is otherwise available to all users, irrespective of classification or discipline. The University currently provides LinkedIn Learning to support related topics including statistical analysis, but limits access to faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and student employees. This tool may require a pro-accommodation plan, which may include alternate software or assignment, if needed. This tool may need additional resources. Please consult with Student Access and Accommodation Services or the ADA Coordinator (for employees).
Canvas integration is currently being pursued but does not have a timeline for completion. In the meantime, you can register for an account and use Sage Campus within any browser. Those interested in assigning Sage Campus in their courses can read the guide for faculty, noting that OpenAthens is used for authentication. In order to create cohorts and assign courses, you will need a “course assigner” role. Milner Library eResources employees can assign this role to you after you set up your account. To request permissions or for general questions about using Sage Campus, please reach out to liberesourceshelp@IllinoisState.edu.
