Nearly 6,200 students will travel to Illinois State University from August 4–17 for move-in.
Students will once again have assigned move-in dates and times depending on their housing assignment.
Move-in for residents of Cardinal Court, Fell Avenue, and School Street apartments starts Monday, August 4.
East Campus (Manchester and Hewett) returning students will start moving in Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12.
Approximately 60 percent of residents will move in Wednesday, August 13, and Thursday, August 14. The remainder of returning students will schedule move-in appointments between Friday, August 15, and Sunday, August 17.
“This year we have also condensed move-in times at West Campus (Wilkins, Wright and Haynie) to run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we have found in past years this area moves quicker than our other residence halls,” said Stacey Mwilambwe, director of University Housing. “This will allow us to shift resources to other areas for greater effectiveness.”
Temporary traffic patterns and some street closures will be in effect August 11–15. North Street will be one-way east from School Street to Fell Avenue; Fell Avenue will be one-way south from Mulberry Street to College Avenue (only move-in traffic allowed); Fell Avenue will be closed between College Avenue and North Street; Fell Avenue will be closed for all northbound traffic.
This year more than 400 students and staff as well as Association of Residence Halls members will serve as move-in volunteers, including 130 student-athletes.
University Housing is taking employee volunteers until July 23. Volunteers can give any amount of time during the move-in timeframe. To volunteer, contact Seann Berrocales at scberro@ilstu.edu.
