As part of National Suicide Awareness Week, Illinois State University will host a screening of the film To Write Love on Her Arms at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, in the Bone Student Center, Circus Room. The event is free and open to the public.
The film is based on the true story of a young girl who struggles with addiction and abuse. The movie portrays the value of genuine friendships and a journey of recovery; and presents a vision of hope, healing, and redemption.
To inspire those suffering from mental illness, there will a Wall of Hope displayed at the movie screening. Students can write messages or take pictures on the Quad to be included in the Wall of Hope.
