Psychology Professor Dawn McBride recently filmed a series of educational videos for SAGE Video for a psychology collection that is expected to launch in March 2016. The videos will be available along with two of her textbooks, Cognitive Psychology (co-authored with Psychology Professor J. Cooper Cutting) and The Process of Research in Psychology (third edition), which is McBride’s methods text.
“SAGE already has a great relationship with Professor McBride through a number of textbooks that she’s published with us in the area of psychology,” said Camille Gamboa, a spokeswoman for SAGE. “It seemed completely obvious to the team that she’d be a perfect contributor to the collection given this experience as well as her own scholarly activities.”
The series was produced in a one-day session that took place in the Department of Psychology’s recently updated conference room, with the department’s new “Wall of Honor” as backdrop.

McBride worked with professional videographers to film the five introductory videos that she is contributing to SAGE Video’s psychology series. Three of those videos are tutorials on the topics of experiments, memory, and prospective memory, and the other two are case study videos on the topics of false memory and interactions in experiments.
“The video collections were designed after conducting robust research about changing student needs, instructor preferences, and library support of the research-and-learning ecosystem,” said Stephen Barr, president of SAGE International.
SAGE Video’s psychology collection will contain a variety of high quality, original production videos that are designed to meet the needs of students and educators across all levels of higher education.
