The 2016 Team Excellence Award Winner is Giving Tuesday, with honorable mentions going to Social Media Analytics Command Center (SMACC), and Redbird Scholar. The teams were honored at the Founders Day Celebration on February 18.
Giving Tuesday was Illinois State University’s one-day giving challenge, part of the nationally recognized Giving Tuesday. The effort started in December 2014, raising more than $331,000 in a 24-hour period. This year’s results were more than five times that amount. The team includes Lora Wey, R.C. McBride, Ryan Denham, Brian Beam, Adam Rahn, Jacob DeGeal, Tracy Widergren, Zach Parcell, and Mike Mahle.
The Social Media Analytics Command Center (SMACC) is a facility dedicated to studying social media analytics and strategy. The space serves as a classroom, research laboratory, media war room, and consultation studio for Illinois State University, Bloomington-Normal, and Central Illinois. The team includes Nathan Carpenter, Stephen Hunt, Eric Hodges, Michael Williams, Julie Maio, and R.C. McBride.
Redbird Scholar is a print and online publication that supports all four of Educating Illinois’ goals while promoting research and creative expression at Illinois State. The team includes John Baur, Kevin Bersett, Ashley Ellefritz, Amy Hurd, Eric Jome, and Jason Wagoner.
The Illinois State University Team Excellence Award was established in 1997 to recognize collaborative efforts of a group demonstrating exemplary teamwork. Groups that worked during the previous year are announced and recognized annually on Founders Day.
