Quark gluon plasma subject of physics colloquium
David Hofman, chair of the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will present “A Frontier of Nuclear Physics: Studying the Quark Gluon Plasma” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in Moulton Hall, room 214. The talk is part of the Spring 2016 Physics Colloquium.
Geography program earns national honor
Illinois State University’s Geography Program housed in the Department of Geography-Geology earned an honorable mention in the inaugural Award for Program Excellence by the American Association of Geographers (AAG).

Distinguished dissertation award announced
The winner of the 2016 Clarence W. Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award is Emerson Keith Bowers of the School of Biological Sciences.
