Student Danielle Diamond’s journey from school librarian to PULSE program
Former school librarian and current student Danielle Diamond is enrolled in the Department of Special Education’s Paraprofessionals Unlocking Licensure in Special Education (PULSE) program. She was inspired to make a career change by a group of special education teachers and students while working as an early childhood and elementary school librarian. Diamond transformed the educational experience of two special education classes by creating unique and accessible library programming.
Toys for Tots donations now being accepted
Illinois State University and the Civil Service Council are partnering for the ninth time with Toys for Tots of McLean County. New and unwrapped toys, for children ages from newborn to 12 years old, can now be dropped off at campus locations.
Illinois State University upgrading to Wi-Fi 6E
Illinois State University is in the process of upgrading to Wi-Fi 6E. The new wireless access point hardware is currently in a pilot stage in Julian Hall to give network engineers experience and to be able to troubleshoot any issues before rolling it out to the rest of campus.

Bilingual puppet troupe Dragoncillo educates, entertains students, faculty, and community
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, together with the School of Theatre and Dance, hosted a three-day visit from the Dragoncillo Puppet Troupe to share their unique craft with ISU students, faculty, the Unity Community Center, the Western Avenue Community Center, and the Illinois Art Station.
Campus Sustainability Showcase, October 26
The Center for a Sustainable Water Future and the Office of Sustainability are hosting Illinois State University’s first ever Campus Sustainability Showcase on Thursday, October 26, from 9 a.m.-noon in the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center with support of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost.
