The Larry and Barbara Efaw Center for Educator Excellence, the Cecilia J. Lauby Teacher Education Center, the Office of Sustainability, and Career Services are partnering to kick-off the inaugural Educator Career Prep Week from October 23-27. The week will be filled with events that will help support Redbird Educators as they prepare for the classroom and the Education Career Fair on October 31.

Teacher readiness is the theme of our events. The College of Education understands the challenges and financial demands facing students preparing to become professional educators. This week is about individual attention and one-on-one coaching readiness for clinical experiences and the career fair.

One of the highlights is the weeklong Share Shop for students to find their teacher style including student stylists who can help them shop. The clothing items were donated by College of Education faculty and staff and other campus partners and are free for students.

The week will include opportunities for students to work with a Career Services ambassador to update their resume and practice interviewing. In addition, students will connect with current educators about interviewing, school involvement, career attire, mentoring, wellness, career development, and more.
