The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) Dissertation of the Year award recognizes an outstanding dissertation that has had a generative impact on present and future research. The recipient of this award is recognized as a champion of innovative solutions to problems of practice.

The Ben C. Hubbard Leadership Award recognizes the achievements of a person who has promoted, championed, or achieved one or more significant goals benefiting education in Illinois. The following two educational professionals were recognized with the award in 2016 and 2017.
