Annual Campus Communication for Dismount Zones

Illinois State University is continuing the implementation of dismount zones for bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and other recreation and transportation devices. Dismount zones are reserved for pedestrian use, and riders are required to dismount and walk their devices through these areas. This applies to electric, motorized, and manual devices. Dismount zones were enacted as a campus safety measure.

New master of public health program trains future leaders

Bella Ogurek ’23 is no stranger to hard work, and she thrives on a busy schedule. That’s a good thing given that she’s a licensed emergency medical technician, a graduate assistant for Safe Redbirds Ambassadors, and she teaches CPR through Environmental Health and Safety. She accomplishes all that while pursuing a master’s degree in the new fully online master of public health (M.P.H.) program, which prepares students to become leaders in the public health sector.

Escaping the nest: Student teams take on tornado escape room

More than 100 students are registered to participate in Escape the Nest, an emergency-preparedness-themed pop-up escape room created by 20 students from Assistant Professor Simone Downie’s Games and Society class in collaboration with Illinois State University Emergency Management.
