The Department of Politics and Government is hosting a retirement reception honoring Dr. T.Y. Wang, chair and professor for the department, from 3:30-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in the Founders Suite inside Bone Student Center.

Dr. Touré Reed, professor of history, will deliver the Spring College Lecture on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 5 p.m., in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center. His talk, “Is it Race or Racism?: Why Binary Explanations for Inequality Have Failed Black Americans,” is free and open to the public.
Drs. Lea Cline and Kathryn Jasper are conducting a multiyear archaeological dig in Italy that is being supported by Illinois State’s new Advancing Research and Creative Scholarship program.
Dr. Will Lewis’ innovative use of satellites to investigate inequality was awarded funding from Illinois State’s new Advancing Research and Creative Scholarship program. He and his students have also been working to establish a cube satellites program at Illinois State.
Sumaiya Hasan, a master’s student in the School of Biological Sciences, became the fourth biology student in the Three Minute Thesis competition’s eight-year history to win the top prize.
