Colleen McKenna and Gina Romer are National Board Certified Teachers who were awarded the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching this past May.

Golden Apple recently announced the finalists for the 2020 prestigious Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has announced Oak Park Elementary School District 97 as one of eleven school districts nationwide to have been named National Board Accomplished Districts for their investment of resources to support advancing quality teaching through National Board Certification.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has announced that 4,786 teachers have successfully met these standards to renew their National Board Certification in 2019.

The National Board Resource Center (NBRC) at Illinois State University and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) have announced that the Fall 2019–2020 window for the Illinois National Board (NB) First Time Candidate Fee Subsidy will open Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. and will close Sunday, October 6, 2019, at midnight.

The NBCTs Aspiring to School Leadership conference will take place Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the IPA offices in Springfield.
