A total of 395 issues of internal and public-facing newsletters created by Milner Library between 1967 and today have been added to Illinois State University’s institutional repository, ISU ReD.
The annual event aims to “inspire global momentum toward the open sharing of knowledge in order to address important social issues,” by drawing attention to the benefits of open access publishing, as well as the progress made and challenges to advancing open access.
Dr. Christopher Breu, professor of English, is distinguished by having their forthcoming monograph, In Defense of Sex: Nonbinary Embodiment and Desire, selected for inclusion in the Knowledge Unlatched 2025 program.
Authors from all colleges have now benefited from these agreements; by publishing open access, authors increase access to their work, enhance their stature as public scholars, and contribute to the public good.
Such open access publishing initiatives compliment others that are currently available to Illinois State University editors, scholarly society leaders, and editorial board members.

Acting Provost Dr. Ani Yazedjian presented awards to the 2023 Outstanding University Teaching Award winners in January.
An agreement with Sage Publications provides online access to all Sage subscription journals (from 1999, where available, to the present).
Beginning Monday, October 23, Milner librarians will be reaching out to Illinois State authors who have published their work open access with the offer to deposit it in ISU ReD.
