“The Transformation of Islamic Law in Egypt: From Sharia to Personal Status Law” will be the topic of a presentation by Kenneth Cuno on Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 12-1 p.m. in the Bone Student Center First Floor West Lounge. The event is free and open to the public.

Cuno is an associate professor in the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His teaching and research focuses on the social, economic, and legal history of the modern Middle East.

His presentation is part of Illinois State University’s International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs, and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program.
