Vanessa Rusch, managing editor at the University of Alabama Press, will present From Trade House to University Press: Managing Editorial and the Ps of Publishing at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Publications Unit in Williams Hall Annex, room 103.

As managing editor of University of Alabama Press, Vanessa Rusch applies over a decade of publishing, editorial and communications experience. She is a liaison between the acquisitions, editorial, production and marketing departments. In her role, she oversees the planning, development, scheduling and overall production of the press’ publication series, including FC2 and Poetry and Poetics, in conjunction with the press director and the press board. In her supervisory function, Vanessa hires, trains and evaluates staff editors and student workers, and coordinates freelance editorial work.

Rusch will visit the Publications Unit via Skype to discuss her work and have a Q&A with interested students and faculty. The talk is part of the Publications Unit Professional Speaker Series.
