Academy of Seniors, Mornings with Professors schedule announced

Academy of Seniors and Mornings with the Professors programs will begin classes in mid-March and continue through mid-May. Subjects to be explored will include innovative art, the effects of World War I, an examination of Illinois’ budget crisis, the long-lasting impact of Jim Crow laws in Bloomington-Normal, and sustainable communities.

The lifelong-learning classes are sponsored by Illinois State University’s Senior Professionals organization and will be held in the University’s Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St. in Normal.

State of the State: A Look at Government and Education in Illinois
Various speakers will discuss school policy in Illinois, the budget issue, and potential causes for the dysfunction in Illinois’ politics and government.
Tuesdays/Fridays, May 2-12

WWI Aftermath
Topics covered will include post-war culture, women’s suffrage, and international politics leading up to World War II.
