Physics fall colloquium series: Science data, November 13

Professor of accountancy Robert J. Brunner at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will present “Breaking Data Science.” Brunner received a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in astronomy from Johns Hopkins University in 1994 and 1998 respectively. He also received a master’s degree in physics from Purdue University in 1992. Brunner is an Arthur Andersen Faculty Fellow and currently serves as the director at the Deloitte Foundation Center for Business Analytics, University of Illinois.
Professor Gabriel Spalding of the Illinois Wesleyan University Physics Department will present “Time in Experiments on Quantum Entanglement (and beyond)”
In an event co-hosted by the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, Patrick McGuire of the University of Reading’s Department of Meteorology in the United Kingdom will present “Land/atmosphere interactions on the Earth and Mars.”
