Illinois State students and Normal residents can participate in early voting on campus.
With the upcoming March 17 election quickly approaching, voting is one way to exercise civic engagement. As part of Illinois State University’s American Democracy Project, the University is committed to providing you with the information needed to vote in every election.
Illinois State staff have worked with the McLean County Clerk’s office to secure a second campus polling place, in the Rosa Parks Room in Watterson Towers. This will help alleviate the long lines experienced at the Bone Student Center during previous elections. The University has also worked with the County Clerk’s office to help recruit more election judges for the two campus polling places and to ensure a secure and convenient voting process.
In–person voter registration is available on campus starting March 2 and requires two forms of identification. The American Democracy Project at Illinois State maintains the Redbird Voter Guide. The site contains information about campus polling locations, voter registration, required I.D., early voting, voting by mail, election day, and ballot information.
Avoid long lines on election day and vote early with locations on campus. Early voting is also available at Eastland Mall and at the County Clerk’s office.
