Illinois State University’s Professional Sales Institute hosted the Redbird National Sales Competition (RNSC) February 27–28.
The event prepares students for the National Collegiate Sales Competition, which was held virtually March 27–30.
“We are proud to host a national sales competition that brings together students and faculty from across the Midwest, South and East Coast,” reported Dr. Horace Melton, Department of Marketing chair. “This year’s sales competition was our first effort to expand from a regional to a national competition, and we are very pleased with the response.”
More than 150 participants attended the event and exhibited their sales skills during role-play scenarios. Additionally, 20 schools and 11 corporate sponsors were represented at the competition.
“I applaud the faculty and staff of the professional sales program for their tremendous efforts organizing this successful competition for the professional development of our sales students! The RNSC helped build students’ selling skills, prepared them to compete in other national competitions and provided significant networking opportunities with corporate sponsors and recruiters,” said Melton.
