Students who are part of the NexSTEM program will present research topics at the 2021-22 Research Poster Symposium from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 in the Workforce Development Center at Heartland Community College.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the NexSTEM program awards four-year science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) scholarships to students at Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Heartland.

More than 30 students from the three schools will present their research findings with the community. The event will include a light breakfast. Those interested in attending should RSVP to sglowins@iwu.edu by Wednesday, March 30.

The National Science Foundation awarded a $4.6 million grant to the three-school consortium on a five-year timeline. Nearly $2.8 million went to scholarships, and the other $1.8 million involved research projects for students who may not have the means to find such opportunities within the field.
