Sociologist Cedrick-Michael Simmons will deliver the talk “The Challenges of Diversity Management” at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, via Zoom.
The event, sponsored by African American Studies, is free and open to the public. Those interested can request the Zoom link here.
Dr. Simmons will explore the political and structural challenges confronting diversity managers in a talk based on his own ongoing interviews with student affairs and diversity administrators.
Simmons is currently finishing his Ph.D. in sociology at Boston College. His research focuses on the background, role, and constraints of diversity administrators who work at predominantly white universities.
