Illinois State University will hold a Listening Circle on December 2, 2022, to help process recent anti-LGBTQIA2+ incidents, including the tragic shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs.
Listening Circles provide participants with the opportunity to share experiences and create a community of support.
The circle will be from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Multicultural Center. Led by Dr. Dakesa Piña , director of Diversity and Inclusion for the College of Education, and Dr. Gavin Weiser, assistant professor in Educational Administration and Foundations, the circle is open to Illinois State University students and aims to gather our student community to discuss anti-LGBTQIA2+ hate and its impact.
This circle is sponsored by the President’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Multicultural Center, College of Education’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Unit, and Queer Coalition.
