The CAST Persistence Fund was created in 2019 to encourage and support deserving students in the College of Applied Science and Technology with demonstrated need and/or high academic impact. The grants awarded from this fund have been making a significant difference in the lives of CAST students:
“This award is going to help me continue my education at ISU. I have always wanted to be the first in my family to graduate from college. My family has always struggled with money, and my grades have gotten me a long way. This award is going to help us financially. I appreciate this award so much, more then you will ever know, and I thank you for that.”
“Thank you to CAST and Dean McLoda for this award! This will take away some of the financial stress associated with my senior year. Since this award helps cover my remaining balance, it also allows me to focus on my upcoming internship.”
“This award couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been in the process of trying to figure out how to afford an apartment and remain in school without too much help from my parents. But now, a lot of weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I can pay more attention to finishing out my junior year strong!”
“This award showed me that people still believe in you your senior year. I needed some type of push to get me out of my COVID blues, and this gave me the motivation that I needed to be focused again.”
“I am happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected for this award. Receiving this has lightened my financial burden, which has allowed me to focus more on important aspects of school, like my grades and student organizations.”
