Illinois State students shared their research on virtual spiders, false memories, wrongful convictions, nanoparticles, and scores of other topics at the Graduate School’s Research Symposium. The 32nd annual showcase of student scholarship and creative expression was held Friday, April 14, in the Brown Ballroom and Circus Room in the Bone Student Center.
Participants displayed their research on posters and discussed their methodology and findings with their colleagues, mentors, and members of the general public.
“It’s great to have everybody together and really showcase student research in all different formats today,” said Graduate School Director Dr. Noelle Selkow. “Also, it’s really just great to see the enthusiasm that our students have for the research that they’re doing.”
More than 460 graduate and undergraduate students from 29 programs participated in the symposium, which stretched across morning and afternoon sessions. “We have representation from every college, which means research is expanding and filtrating into all different avenues,” Selkow said.
Once again, the Circus Room hosted entries into this year’s Image of Research competition and an e-poster display for students who are in online programs or could not present their research in person.
