“Supporting student success includes creating the conditions within which students can prioritize their academics while attending ISU,” said College of Arts and Sciences Dean Heather Dillaway. “We have all seen the reports of growing food insecurity among college students across the country. Reducing food insecurity within our student population increases the likelihood that students can concentrate on college coursework and achieve their educational goals. Within this context, the School Street Food Pantry fulfills a very important role within our campus community.”
The School Street Food Pantry provides food and supplies to currently enrolled college and trade school students in the Bloomington-Normal area who are experiencing food insecurity. The pantry is located inside Normal First United Methodist Church at 211 N. School Street. The church is immediately north of Milner Library on the Illinois State University campus. The pantry is open for distribution from 4-6 p.m. each Friday from August through May.
