Illinois State Multicultural Center will host Redbird alum and former aide to First Lady Michelle Obama, Lola Tomorrow, for the presentation, “Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur Experience: Introducing Lola Tomorrow.” The event is an opportunity for students and the ISU community to hear from Lola Tomorrow, who went from “academic probation to student leader to the White House, and ultimately to a multi-million-dollar mogul.”

  • Brown Ballroom I, Bone Student Center

Lola will share transparently about her journey of overcoming many challenges and how she used the tools learned as a student leader while at ISU that helped her create a multimillion-dollar brand. Lola considers herself a first-generation entrepreneur who learned the skills to create her multi-million-dollar brand through her role as the president of the Interdenominational Youth Choir, one of ISU’s longstanding registered student organizations. She learned the skills of building a team, event planning, as well as fundraising, having raised over $15,000 for the organization.

At the close of the program, students will learn about how they can apply for the Multicultural Center’s “Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur Institute,” which is set to launch in spring 2024. This eight-week culturally relevant institute is geared towards students who are interested in creating a business model and building their entrepreneurial mindset. Students who attend the November 2 event will receive positive points toward their application to the Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur Institute.

The event is part of a four-part series called “Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur.”

Stay tuned for details on Part 4 of the series, “Tomorrow’s Speed Networking Experience,” where students can network in an online space with ISU entrepreneur alumni, on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
