Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73, the Union that represents ISU’s graduate teaching assistants, has not brought the University’s October 27 last, best, and final offer to its membership for a vote and instead distributed a press release indicating they do not intend to “vote on the employer’s last offer at this time.”

ISU’s last, best, and final proposal is a fair and fiscally responsible offer that balances the needs of all stakeholders and provides significant enhancements to total compensation over the life of the agreement.

ISU’s goal is to ensure that GTA total compensation is competitive to that at peer institutions—including a minimum stipend that is at or above the average minimum stipend paid at comparable universities. A GTA’s total compensation package also includes a full tuition waiver, reimbursement for coverage in the student health care plan, and a partial waiver of mandatory student fees that, under the University’s proposal, will increase in Fall 2024.
