The University Research Symposium will take place on April 12, 2024, in the Brown Ballroom and Atrium in the Bone Student Center.

Online registration will remain open until 11 p.m. C.S.T. on February 16, 2024.

Registration is open to all students enrolled at the University in the spring semester and engaged in scholarship, research, or creative activity under the direction of a faculty mentor. Individual as well as group projects are welcome from both graduate and undergraduate students. It’s a great way to hone your interpersonal skills, gain exposure for your project, and meet other students! Participation also can be added to your resumé.

A faculty mentor approved abstract is required at the time of registration. There will be two poster sessions, with a mix of graduate and undergraduate students in each. The morning session will run from 9-11 a.m. and the afternoon session from 1-3 p.m. An E-Poster option is also available for students who are not on campus. E-posters will be viewed on monitors in the Brown Ballroom Atrium from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Some disciplines may host their own oral events. Please contact your faculty mentor regarding such an event taking place in your department/school.

The Graduate School sponsors this event. For more information see the 2024 Symposium Guidelines.

For questions, please contact the Graduate School at (309) 438-2583 or Symposium staff at symposium@IllinoisState.edu.
